Lake Bunyonyi

A private safari, 4 days, 3 nights

This private safari drives from Entebbe to the southern sectors of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where you spend two nights and trek to a mountain gorilla family. Instead of rushing back, you spend the last night at Lake Bunyonyi, a deep, island-scattered lake in the terraced hills near Kabale.

The lake is a place to slow down: a canoe or boat trip between the islands, a swim, and a long lunch on the terrace before the drive back to Entebbe.

Questions travellers ask

Can we fly instead of driving?

Yes. Scheduled flights to Kisoro shorten the journey to the southern sectors. Ask us for a fly-in version.

Can we swim in Lake Bunyonyi?

Many visitors do; the lake is considered free of bilharzia. Ask your lodge about the best spot.

Is Lake Bunyonyi worth the extra night?

Most travellers love the change of pace after the trek, and it breaks the long drive back.
