A private trip: it starts on any day you choose, and every quote is all-inclusive.

Murchison Falls is where the Victoria Nile, close to 50 metres wide upstream, forces itself through a gap of about seven metres and drops some 43 metres into the gorge below. The park around it is Uganda's largest. The north bank is open grassland where Rothschild's giraffe, elephant, buffalo, Uganda kob and Jackson's hartebeest graze within sight of the river, and lions hunt the kob herds on the Buligi tracks.
This private luxury safari covers the park properly in two nights. On the way north you track white rhinos on foot at Ziwa, the only place in Uganda to see them. You spend a full morning on the north bank, take the afternoon launch to the foot of the falls and stand at the top before driving home. The vehicle and guide are yours alone, so timings follow the animals rather than a group schedule.
Your guide collects you from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe at around 7:00. The road heads north for about three hours to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where a ranger leads you on foot to the rhinos. The walk usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours, and you can often get within 30–40 metres. After lunch you continue through Masindi into Murchison Falls National Park, stopping at the top of the falls before reaching the lodge in the late afternoon.
An early start takes you on the first ferry across the Nile at Paraa. The morning is spent on the north bank, where the grass is shortest from December to March and June to September. Giraffe, elephant, buffalo, kob, oribi and hartebeest are seen on most drives, and your guide will check the usual lion areas along the Buligi tracks. After lunch at the lodge, the 14:00 launch leaves Paraa for a three-hour cruise upstream to the foot of the falls.
If you want to look for the shoebill, an early boat trip downstream to the Nile delta can be added. Otherwise you have a relaxed breakfast before the drive south through Masindi, arriving in Kampala in the mid-afternoon or Entebbe by early evening. A flight from Pakuba airstrip to Entebbe can replace the road journey.
Two nights at one of these lodges on the south bank of the Nile, or one of the same standard if both are full on your dates. We confirm which before you pay.

December to February and June to September are the driest months, when grass is short and animals gather near the Nile. March to May and October to November bring rain, greener scenery and lower lodge rates.
