Who we are

Luxury Travel Mavens is a safari company based in Uganda. We design and operate private luxury safaris across Uganda and Rwanda: gorilla trekking in Bwindi and the Virungas, chimpanzees in Kibale and Nyungwe, and big game in Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, Kidepo and Akagera.

Because we run the trips ourselves, the people who answer your first message are the same people who arrange your permits, brief your guide and check that your lodge is ready. There is no agent in between.

How we work

• Every trip is private. Your own 4x4 Land Cruiser and driver-guide, never shared with strangers.
• One all-inclusive quote. Every quote covers park fees, permits, lodges and the activities in the itinerary.
• Permits are bought in your names. Gorilla and chimpanzee permits are booked as soon as your deposit clears.
• Everything can change. Any itinerary can be lengthened, upgraded or combined across both countries before you pay.

Our guides and vehicles

Every safari uses a 4x4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof for game viewing, and an English-speaking driver-guide who stays with you for the whole trip.

Travelling responsibly

Gorilla and chimpanzee permit fees fund the protection of the parks, and a share of park revenue goes to communities living around them. We follow the parks' rules on group sizes, distances and illness, and we recommend lodges that employ and buy locally.
